SEPTEMBER 24, 2020: The Roosters are off to a great start to the Fall 2020 campaign picking up a huge 9-3 win over Another Worldly Device tonight, already tying their season-high win total of a measly one win this past summer.
The opposition struck first with a nice deflection in front by Liam Smith, but the lead was short lived as the Roosters stormed back scoring four goals before the end of the first, with two goals coming just over a minute after Another Worldly Device scored. The Roosters scored another to start the second period, but AWD came right back and snuck one past Eshelby on the 2-on-1 play. Once again, the momentum shifted right back the other way as the Roosters scored another four in a row as Kenyi scored quite possibly the goal of the year past AWD goaltender Robinson. AWD scored one with just over a minute left in the game to make it the final score of 9-3.
TEAM HIGHLIGHTS:
- John Contreras continued his dominance with a hat trick on the night.
- Taylor Unick also continued his dominance with a huge four goal night for the elusive "Cock trick", and added an assist as well.
- Ty Steffen and Mena Kenyi also added goals for the Roosters
- Eshelby stopped 19/22 for his first win of the season.
Next game is Tuesday night as the Roosters take on the 0-1-0 Superior AB Pylons with puck drop at 9:45PM at Jemini Arena!
There's also rumours that spectators may be allowed now, so we will keep everyone posted on that!
