Roosters Lose First of the Season

OCTOBER 6, 2020: The Roosters came out of last night's game with a 10-3 blowout loss against the Blue Devils.

The Blue Devils got on the board first with a quick strike from the league leading point and goal scorer, Braedon Fiske. At the halfway point of the first, Raiat Rahman got hauled down and was awarded a penalty shot and had the opportunity to score his first career ASHL goal and did he ever deliver! Rahman came in and put one top shelf for his first career goal as the Rooster bench went crazy. Not long after that, the Blue Devils took the lead again, but Eshelby got one up to Regnier who scored on the wraparound to tie it back up. The Blue Devils added. two more quick ones to end the period being up by two.

Fiske scored just over a minute into the second period and Steffen scored less than a minute after that, but that was the closest the Roosters would get to the Blue Devils on the scoreboard. Outshooting the Roosters 31-11 in the second period alone (51-22 in the entire game), the Blue Devils scored five unanswered, including three from Fiske. Eshelby went down late in the second with what was likely a groin strain, but should be good to go for the game tomorrow night.

TEAM HIGHLIGHTS:

- Raiat Rahman and Rylie Regnier each scored their first career ASHL goals.

- Ty Steffen added yet another goal to continue his point streak from last season.

- Eshelby stopped 41/51 on the night, adding an assist on Regnier's goal.

Next game is tomorrow night as the Roosters take on the 0-3-0 AWD with puck drop at 9:45PM at Jemini Arena!
