SEPTEMBER 27TH, 2020: The 2020 ASHL Fall season is now underway, and the Roosters came out of the gates flying back this past Thursday night with a 9-3 thumping of AWD. The Pylons lost their opening game in a high scoring affair with the Blue Devils by a score of 8-6.
The Roosters proved that they can score goals, as only once this past summer did the Roosters score more than six, and twice more than four in a game. They also managed to outshot their opponent just once this past summer and never hit more than 37 shots on goal. After Thursday's big win, the team not only outshot AWD, but they did so by a margin of 54 to 22.
The Roosters were bolstered by a four goal, five point outing by Taylor Unick and hat trick by captain John Contreras who both continued their dominance from the summer season into this fall season. Eshelby stopped 19 of 22 in the win with a solid performance despite not seeing much action for the majority of the game.
With such a strong performance, it is expected that the Roosters will come out hard next game against a Pylons team who is looking to pick up their first win on the season. The Pylons were led by Ben Lukash who picked up two goals and two assists in their first game, while goaltender Cole Gillespie stopped 34 of 42 in the loss.
Game time is set for 9:45pm on Tuesday night at Jemini Arena. Spectators are allowed in the facility now, but we are limiting spectators to just friends and family of the team at the moment as each spectator must come in with one of the players on the team.
