GAME PREVIEW: October 14th vs Pylons

OCTOBER 12TH, 2020: The Roosters are coming off a big win this past Wednesday night and are looking to carry that momentum into this Wednesday's matchup. The Pylons lost their last game this past Wednesday by a final of 6-3 after Eshelby subbed in for Pylons goaltender Cole Gillespie who was involved in a car accident on the way to the rink.

The Roosters have continued to play well so far much due in part to some much better defensive play, as they only trail the division leading Blue Devils in goals against by two goals. With the exception of the blowout loss to the Blue Devils back last Monday, the Roosters have surrendered three goals or less in the other three games played. Captain John Contreras continues to lead the team in goals with seven, and is one point back of the team lead in points with Taylor Unick who has five goals and three assists. Rylie Regnier now has goals in back to back games and will look to continue that streak Wednesday night. Goaltender Brandon Eshelby continues to hold the division lead with .845 save percentage and sits back one spot of the lead for GAA with 4.80 GAA in five games played (Blue Devils Chris Perkins has the lead in GAA with 4.00 in four games played).

The Pylons have played well this season despite their record of only one win. One of the better teams defensively in the entire league, a lack of discipline seems to be their downfall. The Pylons currently lead the entire division and league in total PIM and total penalties taken so far. Ben Lukash is in the top 20 for league scoring, but unfortunately holds the weight of their offence as their next best scorers have six and three points respectively. Goaltending has been good for the Pylons as Gillespie is right behind Eshelby in GAA and save percentage, so if Gillespie is between the pipes Wednesday night, we can expect another gritty, goaltending battle.

Game time is set for 10:00pm Monday at Jemini Arena. Spectators are allowed in the facility now, but we are still limiting spectators to just friends and family of the team at the moment as each spectator must come in with one of the players on the team.
