GAME PREVIEW: August 17th, 2020

AUGUST 14TH, 2020: Get ready for another Roosters game day with an early game preview!

The Roosters (1-4-0) will take on Doug and the Slugs (1-4-0) for the second time this season on Monday, August 17th. The Roosters are coming off of a third straight loss last week, losing a game to each team in the division now. Doug and the Slugs are also struggling this season, boasting the same record as the Roosters. The Roosters lone win came against the Bandits in the second game of the season, while Doug and the Slugs picked up their only win over the Roosters back on July 30th.

The Roosters are led by assistant captain Ty Steffen who has 7 goals and 2 assists (6th in division points) in 5 games this season, and captain John Contreras is not far behind with 5 goals and 1 assist (11th in division points) in 4 games. Brandon Eshelby currently sits 2nd in division SV% with .832, and 0.02 off of 2nd in GAA at 5.82.

Doug and the Slugs are being led offensively Brett Baycroft who leads the team in goals with 9, and points with 2 (4th in division points). The team has been backstopped by Ryan Evenson lately, who sits 4th in the division in both SV% and GAA at .780 and 7.33 respectively.

The Roosters will need a strong performance offensively as the team has only scored more than 3 goals once this season, which was in their only win.

Doug and the Slugs will need to play strong defensively as in all but their game against the Roosters has seen them allow fewer than 7 goals (9+ against in 3 games).
