SEPTEMBER 29TH, 2021: The Saskatchewan government had announced a few weeks back that unfortunately all spectators and us as a team are required to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test (from no more than 72 hours prior) along with government issued ID at the entrance to any sports facility. This is effective this Friday, October 1st.
Below is a summary of the statement Canlan Sports and the ASHL Saskatoon league manager made last night:
Starting October 1, all players will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative test within the last 72 hours from an approved agency. The only vaccination status accepted is fully vaccinated, meaning 14 days after the second dose. Please note the parameters of the program were not set by Canlan, and we do not have the option to allow a grace period for people to get their second dose.
The following are acceptable proofs for now:
The QR codes, the wallet cards that were received at the time of immunization, a printed copy of a MySaskHealthRecord vaccine certificate (with or without a QR code), or a screenshot of a MySaskHealthRecord vaccine certificate (with or without a QR code) saved to a device. You must also show government issued photo ID when presenting your proof of vaccination.
There are only three companies (Quantum Genetix, Nobel and Haztec) that are accepted to get the tests from (we did not choose these companies, we were told by government these were the ones accepted). Self-administered tests and SHA tests are not accepted.
A few other notes:
Masks on the ice for players will no longer be required starting October 1.
All people will be required to enter the building through the Sea-can attached to Rink 1 at Jemini (main entrance at Agriplace).
Spectators must show proof of vaccination as well.
Masks are still required to be worn in the building other than on ice and while in the restaurant with food and beverage – there is a still a provincial masking order in effect.
We cannot record your vaccination status, we must check for it each time you come to the facility.
Players caught using forged or doctored vaccination documentation may be permanently banned from the ASHL.
We will provide updates on any measures as we know them.
